Richard Drake Award for Writing

The Fund will provide two humanities writing awards annually (Each Spring Semester) to University of Montana students, one to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate student according to the following guidelines: The intent of the award is to honor excellence in writing in the College of Humanities and Sciences. The application will consist of a paper dealing with any theme based on a humanistic discipline. Papers focusing on history, literature, philosophy, religion, politics and the classics will be considered. Papers will be judged on the basis of excellence in writing, imagination in research, and force of argument. Entries must be submitted by March 1 and come with a written endorsement from a College of Humanities and Sciences professor.
