Charlotte Yeoman Martin Scholarship

The Fund shall be used to provide scholarships for students at The University of Montana who are Montana residents and who may not have the financial means, academic record, or the opportunity to attend the University. First-time recipients shall be incoming or enrolled UM undergraduate students who have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need-analysis. Preference will be given to students who are the first-generation from their immediate family to attend a university, and who demonstrate the ability to overcome personal adversity. In keeping with our intent to make a university education accessible, recipients must have a high school or university cumulative GPA below 3.4, which is the threshold normally required for academic scholarships, but not less than 2.5. One award per year shall be made. Providing the recipient reapplies and is making satisfactory progress toward completion of their first undergraduate degree, the scholarship may be renewed for up to four additional years, or until completion of recipients’ first undergraduate degree, whichever occurs first.
