Marlene Bachmann Student Teaching Award

The Fund will provide two awards to University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, one for a student majoring in elementary education and one student completing licensure in a secondary education field, according to the following guidelines: Recipients shall:

a. Have completed the required student teaching semester;

b. Have been a full-time student at the University of Montana for at least two years;

c. Exhibit exemplary skills in most, if not all of the following areas: content knowledge, integration of knowledge and ideas, use of technology and resources, use of authentic assessment, instructional skills, classroom/behavior management, design of learning activities and environments, communication and professionalism;

d. Demonstrate strong potential to become an outstanding member of the teaching community/profession;

e. Indicate a strong orientation towards community service;

f. Illustrate behaviors of life-long learning.
