H. David and Joyce E. Hunt Public Policy Scholarship

The Fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a student in the College of Humanities and Sciences that are interested in a career that emphasizes local government, public administration and policymaking.
Recipient selection:
a. The recipient(s) shall be enrolled in the College of Humanities and Sciences and be majoring in Political Science. To apply, they must have an accumulated 3.0 grade point average or better.
b. The scholarship is intended for juniors, seniors, or graduate students.
c. Preference shall be given to students of high academic achievement, strong work ethic, interest in local government, public administration and policy, and financial need.
e. The selected recipient(s) is required to maintain a 3.00 or better grade point average during the award year. The recipient(s) must remain in good standing with the policies and conditions set forth by the University of Montana.
f. During the scholarship year, the recipient(s) shall complete an internship with the City of Missoula, Missoula County or another local government body; earning academic internship credit. Political Science Department faculty will assist the recipient in obtaining an internship and will supervise the academic credits.

Note that the recipient of the Hunt Scholarship must complete an internship with Missoula County or City, supervised by Political Science faculty and worth three credits, during the internship year.
