Colonel Sam A. and Kathleen A. Roberts Scholarship

The purpose of the Colonel Sam A. and Kathleen A. Roberts Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a deserving cadet enrolled in The University of Montana ROTC Program. The recipient must meet the following criteria: be a graduate of Loyola-Sacred Heart High School in Missoula with a desire for a military career; be recommended by the high school principal; be a full-time student and approved by the professor of Military Science; and have demonstrated qualities of honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship, and service. If an applicant from Loyola-Sacred Heart High School is not identified, then an applicant, eligible under the same criteria, may be nominated by the principal of Helena High School. If no applicant is identified from either Loyola or Helena High Schools, then the recipient shall be determined by the professor of Military Science. The scholarship is intended to be approximately $500 or more for the freshman year. It shall be renewable, provided the student reapplies, has demonstrated good progress in his/her academic work, maintains physical fitness and is approved by the professor of Military Science.
