UM Celebration Brass Quintet Endowed Scholarship
The Fund will provide scholarships to the University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Music according to the following guidelines:
The director of the School of Music, in consultation with the school’s brass faculty will, at the beginning of each academic year, form an ensemble made up of five brass student musicians of the highest caliber (two trumpets, trombone, French horn, and tuba) to be known as the UM Celebration Brass. To recognize the privilege of inclusion in this ensemble, each member of the ensemble shall receive a scholarship funded by the UM Celebration Brass Quintet Endowed Scholarship Fund.
The UM Celebration Brass shall perform in ceremonies of importance, both on the University Campus and in the city of Missoula as ambassadors of the University. The UM Celebration Brass shall also provide at least one recital each academic year. The program for the recital shall note that the UM Celebration Brass was formed in 2013 in memory of Phillip David Kuhn (1983-2012). Five scholarships, one to each member of the UM Celebration Brass Quintet, shall be awarded each year.
