Cynthia Herbig Award

The Cynthia Herbig Award shall be used to provide book awards to outstanding, worthy undergraduates, graduating seniors and graduate students of the Department of Philosophy at The University of Montana. The primary criterion for the award will be academic excellence, but character and commitment to the social and artistic concerns that defined Cynthia Herbig’s life will also be considered. When the spending distribution warrants, scholarships may be awarded rather than book funds. However, in no case will fewer than three awards be made in any year.
