William C. Shreeve Educational Leadership Scholarship
The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate students in the Department of Educational Leadership according to the following guidelines:
Recipient selection: Graduate student(s) in the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education for completion of their master’s degree and certification in K-12 school administration. The recipient must be a graduate level student with “accepted” status in the Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership program and must have completed six credits in that program. The recipient must demonstrate high academic performance and excellence in leadership responsibilities in the public-school setting. The awarded funds for this scholarship are to be used at the discretion of the recipient.
When applying for the scholarship the candidate should submit a double spaced, one-page essay describing why s/he wants to become a principal, what innovations s/he would make as a public-school principal, why s/he would make them, and what characteristics of leadership does s/he value the most? The candidate must also submit two letters of recommendation from a school administrator and a teacher with whom s/he has taught for at least three years.
