A. Undergraduate Math Major Scholarships & Awards

To receive applications for undergraduate scholarships and awards in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. ALL AWARDEES MUST BE ENROLLED AT UM DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025. Full-year awards will be credited to the students’ accounts in two installments, at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.

  1. M1. To be eligible for the general scholarships in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, you must be a math major (this includes students pursuing the combined major in computer science and mathematics). Are you a math major?
  2. M2. To be eligible for the general scholarships in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, you must have completed, or be currently taking a math course at UM. Did you complete, or are you currently taking a math course at UM?
  3. M3. References: If you answered yes to the above questions, please give the names of people who are familiar with your performance as a mathematics student. It is most desirable that your list include instructors you have had in a UM mathematics course. We will not be soliciting written recommendations from the people you have listed as references; however, we may discuss your application with them.
  4. M4. AFTER the beginning of the SPRING semester, please upload a current copy of your unofficial transcript (word doc or pdf only). Please write the Instructors' names next to all of your math classes.
