Bonnie Heavy Runner Award - AGENCY
The purpose of the Bonnie Heavy Runner Scholarship is to provide money for students as follows: Sixty percent of the annual award amount has been allocated to Native American students enrolled in the School of Law and 40% for students enrolled in the Native American Studies Department. A minimum of two cash awards are to be given to students enrolled in the Native American Studies Department. These awards are intended to assist the students with expenses incurred at college other than tuition, to include, but not be limited to, travel, childcare, and school supplies. One award is to be given to a Native American student enrolled in the School of Law. This should be divided with 30% for tuition and 70% for other educational expenses, to include but not be limited to travel, childcare, and school supplies. Preference for both portions of the funds shall be given to students with a current grade point average (at UM or from the school from which they are transferring) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Recipients of these awards are to be determined by the NAS or Law scholarship selection committee, whichever is appropriate.
