Bill and Avis Mitchell Scholarship in Music

The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships of no less than $1,000 for deserving students at The University of Montana who are majoring in music and are from Eastern Montana. It is preferred that the recipients be from east of Billings especially any of the smaller towns in Eastern Montana. If there are two equally qualified candidates and one is from Billings and the other from another town, it is preferable that the award be granted to the student outside of Billings, however, the caliber of student should remain more important than his or her hometown. The amounts of the scholarship awards and the recipients thereof shall be determined by the School of Music Scholarship Committee.
