Andrew and Elizabeth Lassen Endowed Scholarship
The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana graduate or undergraduate students according to the following guidelines:
1. Recipient Selection for Undergraduate Students:
A) Single parents who are supporting one or more minor-aged children living with the parent at the parent’s home. B) Recipients must be enrolled full-time on the University of Montana -Missoula campus in a program leading toward completion of a bachelor’s degree. Students enrolled at Missoula College are not eligible. C) Must meet financial need criteria established by the Office of Financial Aid. D) Undergraduate recipients must have accumulated 30 or more semester credits while achieving a GPA of 2.75 or higher. E) Renewal information: Undergraduate award recipients may be renewed for up to two additional years. Undergraduate awards may be renewed for a second year for recipients who completed 30-semester credits and achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA during the first award year. Further, undergraduate awards may be renewed for a third year for recipients who completed 30-semester credits and achieved a 3.25 or higher GPA during the second award year. If due to extenuating circumstances, an undergraduate recipient has not completed the 30-semester credits required for renewal, the scholarship selection committee may, at its discretion, re-award the scholarship.Recipient Selection for Graduate Students:
A) Single parents who are supporting one or more minor-aged children living with the parent at the parent’s home.
B) Recipients must be enrolled in a graduate program at UM leading to a master’s or doctoral degree.
C) Must meet financial need criteria established by the Office of Financial Aid.
D) Graduate or doctoral recipients must have accumulated 9 or more semester credits while achieving a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
E) Renewal information: This scholarship may also be renewed for graduate students for up to one additional year. Graduate awards may be renewed for a second year for recipients who completed 9 semester credits of graduate-level work and achieved a 3.25 or higher GPA during the first year of the award.
Additionally, once a graduate or undergraduate recipient has received the award, that individual will not be disqualified for subsequent awards based upon the fact that the minor child or children are no longer residing with the recipient.
