Lance Boyd Jazz Scholarship

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate or graduate students in the UM Jazz Program who are performing in UM Jazz Ensemble(s).
1. Recipient selection: Undergraduate or graduate students performing in UM Jazz Ensemble(s). Students are not required to be music majors.
2. Responsibility for selection: Awarding the Lance Boyd Jazz Scholarship shall be the responsibility of a scholarship selection committee selected by the Director of the UM Jazz Program. The committee shall determine the amounts of the scholarship awards and the recipients. It is the donors’ intention that this scholarship be awarded separately from the general music scholarship pool, specifically to enhance the Jazz program’s ability to attract and retain top musicians for its ensembles.
3. The Lance Boyd Jazz Scholarship will be in addition to any other scholarship or award granted to the recipient.
