Briar Diggs Visual Arts Scholarship
The purpose of the Briar Diggs Visual Arts Scholarship is to provide an annual award to a visual arts student who demonstrates unusual enthusiasm, talent and dedication in the exploration of his or her artistic creativity. Students may be selected from any grade level. Awards are not to be made on the basis of financial need but rather on the qualities of enthusiasm, talent and dedication to the visual arts. Recipients will be free to use their awards in whatever manner they feel best supports their creative development as visual artists. Areas of creative pursuit can include, but are not limited to, painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, woodcarving, beading and fiber art. The award should be spent within six months of making the award. Awards are not to be based on financial need but rather on the qualities noted above. The recipient should write a brief written explanation on how he or she chose to use the scholarship, by October 1, and supply it to the school and Briar Diggs.
