Frank W. Milburn Memorial

The purpose of the Frank W. Milburn Memorial is to award a scholarship within the men or women’s UM intercollegiate sports program, and a memorial silver sabre award within the UM ROTC program. The criteria for the scholarship gives preference to a junior student recipient, however, the student may be a sophomore, senior or graduate student at UM. In any case, the student must be making progress toward a degree and should be a member of a recognized varsity team. Selection will be based upon leadership, scholarship, aptitude, sportsmanship, athletic ability and character. The criteria for the silver sabre award gives preference to a junior student recipient, however, the student may be a sophomore, senior or graduate student at UM. In any case, the student must be making progress toward a degree and should be enrolled in the advance course ROTC program. The means an individual has to be a MS III, MS IV cadet. Selection will be based upon leadership, scholarship, military aptitude, sportsmanship, athletic ability and character.
