James A. Messina Scholarship

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Department of Political Science according to the following guidelines: Applicants must have junior or senior standing during the scholarship award year. Qualified applicants will have an interest in government, public administration and/or electoral politics. Preference will be given to an applicant who has, or plans to, work on a political campaign. Preference will be given to students with financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid need analysis.
To determine interest in the above areas, applicants are required to submit a short essay and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the Department of Political Science

Supplemental Questions
  1. Please submit a short essay in PDF format, discussing your interest in "government, public administration, and/or electoral politics," and your previous work or plans to work on a political campaign.
  2. A letter recommending you for the James A. Messina Scholarship must be submitted by a Political Science Department faculty member to the Political Science Scholarship Committee. After the faculty member has agreed to write you a recommendation, list their name and email address here.
